What Does Elixir Mean in a Perfume Name? 30 Perfumes from 16 Brands in Kuwait

The short answer: The word “Elixir” in a perfume name does not point to one single concentration label. In our store, as of 16 October 2026, it appears in the names of 30 in-stock perfumes from 16 brands, priced from 19.050 KWD (10 ml) to 170.050 KWD (50 ml). In 14 of them the product description presents the Elixir as a more concentrated or more intense version of an existing perfume in the same line; in others the word is simply part of the perfume’s own name.
How is the word Elixir used in our perfume names?
The thirty names and their descriptions show three uses:
- An edition of an existing line: such as Dior Sauvage Elixir, Yves Saint Laurent Y L’Elixir for Men, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir Eau de Parfum, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò Elixir and Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Elixir Eau de Parfum, 50ml. Hermès Elixir des Merveilles Eau de Parfum for Women, 100ml is described as “reinterpreting the original Eau des Merveilles with a woody amber character”, so here the description speaks of a reinterpretation of the scent rather than a concentration level.

Elixir versus the base version at the same size
A fair comparison needs the same label and the same size. This applies to La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme: both are labelled Eau de Parfum and both come in 100 ml.

The description of L’Elixir does not compare it directly with the base version, but the two descriptions list different notes: the base is “sweet floral” with iris, patchouli and spun sugar on a vanilla base, while L’Elixir is “sweet fruity floral”, opening on berries and bergamot and settling on cocoa butter with a touch of leather and cedarwood.
Sauvage, Hero, Guilty, Code and Acqua di Giò were left out because their base version in stock carries a different concentration label or is not available in the same size.
