Which Prada Luna Rossa? A Guide to Ocean and Carbon

Our store carries five perfumes from Prada’s Luna Rossa line, and they are two different perfumes: Luna Rossa Ocean in three concentrations, and Luna Rossa Carbon in two versions. The choice starts with what is wanted: a fresh fougère, incense and vanilla, saffron and wood, a metallic character, or licorice. Prices run from KWD 39.450 (Carbon Eau de Toilette, 50 ml) to KWD 61.200 (Ocean Le Parfum).
For a fresh fougère
Prada Luna Rossa Ocean Eau de Toilette: Prada describes it as a new fresh signature that reinvents the fougère family: bergamot at the start, iris and lavender with a saffron accord at the heart, and vetiver, musk and patchouli in the base. Lavender is an aromatic plant with a fresh, herbal scent, and the fougère family is built on it. Its bottle has a blue gradient with Prada’s red line, in 100 ml.
For incense and vanilla
Prada Luna Rossa Ocean Eau de Parfum: Prada describes it as a woody fougère combining intense refinement and warmth: it opens with grapefruit essence, has a woody heart of incense, and a base of vanilla pod accord. Incense in perfumery is a resin taken from the bark of a tree, with a resinous scent and a light smokiness. In 100 ml.
For saffron and wood
Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum: Prada describes it as a powerful, refined ambery fougère, and says that in Le Parfum concentration it is more ardent than the Eau de Parfum: it opens with lemon essence, with a saffron accord and notes of oak wood. Its bottle is deep blue with a red gradient, in 100 ml, and it is the most expensive of the five in our store.
For a metallic character
Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Toilette: Prada describes it as a fresh, intense metallic cologne from the woody fougère family: herbal lavender at the start, then geranium with a woody character, and ambroxan in the base. Ambroxan is a modern aroma material with an ambery, woody scent. It was created by Daniela Andrier, and its bottle has a velvety black base and transparent black glass cut by Prada’s red line. Available in 50 and 100 ml.
For licorice
Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Eau de Parfum Refillable: Prada describes it as a modern dark gourmand bringing together fresh lavender with warm licorice and cypress, so its formula differs from the Carbon Eau de Toilette. Licorice is a plant root with a sweet, slightly herbal scent. The house offers a 150 ml refill for it. Available in our store in 50 and 100 ml.
