Behind the table
“Gourmand” is a French word for someone who loves food, used for perfumes that borrow the scent of desserts. The classic contains iris, a powdery material taken from the roots of the iris flower after years of drying, together with earthy patchouli.
L’Elixir is the only one of the four whose notes, as Lancôme lists them, do not include iris, and despite the word Elixir in its name it is classed as an Eau de Parfum like the classic; the difference between them is in scent, not strength. Lancôme says Soleil Cristal is the first “solar iris” created exclusively for it. In the classic, the price per ml falls from KWD 0.746 in the 75 ml size to KWD 0.489 in the 150 ml size.
